Susan Warren (she/her), LCSW, is an outpatient psychotherapist. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from UALR as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hendrix College, a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Arkansas: Little Rock, a Licensed Certified Social Worker in the state of Arkansas (8931-C), and a published researcher (Social Work in Health Care journal, 2017). My professional background in behavioral health and medical social work settings streamlined my listening and advocation skills for those who need help navigating new and/or complex life circumstances. I am trained in a myriad of theories, and these are listed on psychology today and this site elsewhere.
The short version: I work with all types of humans: individuals, couples, families, young people. People who have years of therapy experience and people who have no therapy experience. Whether we are exploring the chaotic throws of life or establishing healthier communication and coping styles, my work is truly about you. Imagine as if you are in the drivers seat, and I’m in the passenger seat. I’ll point things out as we go, but ultimately the direction we move is up to you.

My personal background is just as molding. I grew up in the rural river valley area of Arkansas. I have a deep love and appreciation for food service. Some of the lessons about healing I learned in my psychology and masters programs, were the very lessons I sensed while growing up in a rural setting, and working within the food industry: “People just want to feel welcome, and seen, taken care of sometimes”. “Understanding others is valuable and worthwhile thing to do”. “We can’t control everything that happens”.

Susan is located in a historic grey house, in the heart of historic downtown Little Rock! We’ve included photos of the street view of Markham. There is free street parking. There is also limited, reserved parking for Desired Path Therapy clients in the back of the lot. You will need to utilize the alley in-between W. Markham and W. Second Street to access. Susan is also certified in telehealth therapy if you prefer a virtual option.
